Alleged Drunk Driver Plows Into OKC Topgolf Bay, Nabbed At Nearby Restaurant

Late-night swings at Topgolf in Oklahoma City took a wild turn Wednesday when a car crashed straight through the side of the Chisholm Creek venue and came to rest inside one of the lower hitting bays around 10 p.m., according to police. Guests and staff scrambled as glass and debris covered the area while emergency crews rushed in. The driver took off but was later tracked down at a nearby restaurant and taken into custody. Oklahoma City police said the crash occurred near the Kilpatrick Turnpike and Pawnee Drive when a vehicle barreled into a bottom-level bay. The driver allegedly fled the scene on foot and was eventually found at a nearby Firebirds restaurant, where officers arrested him. Police say he was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of a crash, obstructing officers and not having a valid driver’s license. A photo shared with the station by Vi Ybarra shows the car surrounded by shattered glass in the bay, as reported by KOCO.

Topgolf’s official venue page lists the Oklahoma City location and regular hours, and the site still showed the spot as available for bookings following the incident. The location remained active on the company website the next day, with standard booking and hours information visible on Topgolf.

Arrest And Legal Next Steps

Police say the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, leaving the scene of a crash, obstructing officers and not having a valid driver’s license, according to KOCO.
