Bixby Clips Stillwater in 4-Point East Thriller; Edmond North Stuns Mustang with Massive West Comeback

Two thrilling down to the wire finishes at the Class 6A regional tournaments set up what promises to be an incredible State Tournament. Bixby held off Stillwater in a tight battle to win the East Regional, while Edmond North staged a big second day comeback to win the West Regional over Mustang.

Bixby and Stillwater battled neck and neck throughout the tournament with Bixby’s bonus point advantage helping them hold off Stillwater and win the title by just four points. Bixby had 24 falls in the tournament, compared to 18 falls for Stillwater, and that 12 point advantage helped Bixby earn their 6th regional title.

In the West Regional, Mustang put 10 wrestlers in the finals, compared to seven for Edmond North to give Mustang a 28.5 lead after day one. Edmond North put five in the consolation finals to trail by eight points going into the medal rounds. The Huskies went 11-2 in the medal rounds, including a perfect 7-0 in the finals to win their 6th straight regional title by 6.5 points over Mustang.
