Epic Charter Schools slashes $30 million off line of credit early

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Epic Charter School officials say its virtual charter school has paid off a $30 million line of credit ahead of schedule.

The state’s largest virtual charter school announced on Friday that the move saved almost $200,000 dollars. After past financial errors, the line of credit was needed to continue school operations.

Epic Charter leaders say the loan was secured on June 20, 2025, with a maturity date of June 20, 2026. Epic avoided paying roughly $197,000 in additional interest, adding, “The discipline shown across so many departments, from budgeting and finance to enrollment, instruction and support services, allowed us to resolve the remaining balance sooner than planned,” said Dr. Shaun Ross, Epic superintendent.
