National measurement shows OKCPS students exceeding learning expectations

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) students are exceeding educational progress expectations according to one national measurement. Over the past three years, the district has outpaced national expectations for academic growth in math and reading.

The Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) measures student academic progress and compares growth between students and between states.

The news is encouraging to Oklahoma City students because over the past three school years, on average, reading skills among OKC students have risen faster than the national average.
