State bill aimed at increasing physical education time for students passes house

OKLAHOMA CITY (KSWO) – A state bill looking to increase physical education time for students in schools has passed the house and will now move to the state senate.

House Bill 3288 seeks to expand physical education requirements to include Pre-K students, and increase activity time to elementary students to about 30 minutes a day in addition, for grades six through 12.

The bill would replace current laws with a requirement for school districts to provide at least 45 minutes of physical activity each school day…
