LUTHER, Okla. (KFOR) — Luther town leaders voted unanimously Thursday night against spending about $1,200 to send someone out of state to tour a data center, after a tense meeting where residents argued the move signaled the town was willing to work with a project they oppose.
Time is ticking on effort to halt data centers in OK for three years
The proposal would have paid for a town representative to visit a data center in the Atlanta area, after a company called Beltline Holdings expressed interest in building one in Luther.
Town leaders said Beltline has not filed formal plans yet, but has offered to host a member of Luther’s planning commission for a tour of one of its facilities.
