Prairie dogs make big move to Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Prairie dogs are sweeping down the plains, making the big migration on Friday from Lawton to Oklahoma City!

Prairie dogs were moved from Lawton in an effort to help build up the population at Martin Park Nature Center, which was home to colonies of little critters in years past.

In order to get the prairie dogs out of their original burrows, they used water and just a touch of dish soap to help lure them from underground.

After their surprise water slide, they were dried off and checked for ticks and fleas before making their way to Oklahoma City…
