Custom Route 66 badges added to 50 Oklahoma locations

OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) — The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce launched a new statewide pavement making project along historic U.S. Route 66.

These pavement markings will serve as a tribute to the historical route that has shaped Oklahoma’s story, as well as America’s westward journey. The project is set to enhance ground visibility of the historic and iconic route, ahead of the Centennial celebration for the travelers expected to drive on the route this coming year.

In 50 locations across the state of Oklahoma, 100 official Route 66 pavement markings will be installed. Each different location will feature the iconic Route 66 badge and will have customizations to reflect its community, with the location displayed at the top of the emblem…
