EDMOND โ A local bookstore owner recently took the Edmond City Council to task over a plan to bring a Barnes & Noble to town, saying it could force her store, or two others, to close.
Lori Dickinson Black took on the council in defense of her Bluebird Books and Edmond’s two other small, independent booksellers.
She said the big Barnes & Noble that local developers hoped to attract to Legacy at Covell, the slow-to-grow retail-restaurant-entertainment hub at Covell Road and Interstate 35, was a disaster in the making. The national chain store would be a blow not only to local retail, but to Edmond’s character, she said…
