Oklahoma appeals court reinstates key evidence in 2022 OKC murder case

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has overturned a judge’s ruling in an Oklahoma City metro murder case, according to court records.

Investigators say Rana Sievert shot and killed her girlfriend, 24-year-old Brianne Torres, during a fight in an apartment near West Wilshire Boulevard and North Rockwell Avenue in 2022.

Police say Sievert then tried to cut off the victim’s leg, and though a judge ruled that evidence could only be presented if Sievert claimed self-defense, the appeals court disagreed…
