OKLAHOMA CITY – The Smashing Pumpkins will return to Oklahoma this fall as part of the band’s newly announced “The Rats In A Cage Tour,” an expansive arena run celebrating the 30th anniversary of the landmark album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The Grammy Award-winning rock band is scheduled to perform Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The tour begins Sept. 30 in Columbus, Ohio, and runs through November with stops across the United States and Canada.
According to the band, the concert will feature two distinct sets. The first will focus exclusively on songs from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness in what frontman Billy Corgan described as a “highly theatrical setting.” The second set will span the band’s nearly 40-year catalog, featuring material from early releases including Gish through the group’s most recent album, Aghori Mhori Mei…
