EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso is inviting the community to celebrate Juneteenth and learn about the holiday during a free, family-friendly event on Saturday evening, June 13.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Nations Tobin Park, 8831 Railroad Dr.
Hosted by the City’s Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the nonprofit organization Black El Paso Voice, the third annual Juneteenth Celebration will honor the history, culture and contributions of Black Americans while bringing the community together for an evening of education, reflection and fun, the City said.
“The Juneteenth celebration serves as a meaningful reminder of the importance of freedom, resilience, and community,” said Parks and Recreation Director Pablo Caballero. “Through this event, we honor the past while bringing people together to celebrate the diversity and unity that make El Paso such a vibrant city.”…
