‘Pop Goes the Fort’ at Fort Bliss kicks off 4th of July festivities

EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Fort Bliss is kicking off a weeklong Independence Day celebration Saturday, June 27, with Pop Goes the Fort at Biggs Park, featuring live music, food and family-friendly activities starting at 4 p.m.

Entertainment planned for Pop Goes the Fort includes free live performances by the 1st Armored Division Band, El Paso hip hop artist Krystall Poppin, pop rock band Hot Chelle Rae and country music star Chris Young, who is set to headline event.

Fort Bliss MWR and Destination El Paso are teaming up for the celebration. Organizers say the goal of America 250 is not only to commemorate a historic milestone for the country, but also to bring the El Paso community together in a shared celebration of identity, heritage, and unity…
