El Paso County adds microchipping events for pets ahead of 4th of July fireworks

EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — With Independence Day celebrations approaching, the El Paso County Animal Welfare Department is urging pet owners to take extra precautions to keep animals safe during fireworks festivities, when shelters often see an increase in lost pet reports.

As part of its efforts to reunite pets with their owners, the department has added additional microchipping events outside of its Parks After Sunset movie series partnership.
