Sacaton Fire: Containment reaches 57% as residents return home

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Fire officials continue to report steady progress in the fight against the Sacaton Fire, which has been burning in the Gila Wilderness area for three weeks.

Residents in the Willow Creek area have also been allowed to return home.

The fire, 15 miles east of Glenwood, New Mexico, has burned 9,848 acres and stands at 57 percent containment, as of Monday, July 13. The fire did not grow in the past 24 hours, fire officials said.
