Nope, NOT El Paso, (at least not in the top 40 anyway), we’re too chill for that. San Antonio is the most stressed Texas city, just making the top 20, at #20.
Texas is, (overall, I guess), pretty mellow in terms of stress. We did make the “most stressed” list but avoided the top 20. (Except San Antonio.) No other Texas city pops up until you hit the 30’s and El Paso is in the 40’s – #45 to be exact
Wallethub just released a list of the most stressed cities in the USA and Texas had a fair showing. Out of 182 total “big” cities, Texas made the list __ times. Never cracked the top 20 though so, overall, I guess we’re not looking at statewide Xanax scripts.
How Stressed Is Texas?
Honestly, I think we, as people, all have about the same stress levels. Obviously though, where we live can ramp things up. For example, El Paso is very laid back and it’s pretty quiet here. I was on edge and gritting my teeth every single minute I was in New York.
Not every city in Texas is mid-sized and super casual like the 915. San Antonio was in the top 20 most stressed cities and Houston got into the low teens at 13. Brownsville was next for the lone star state at 30, neck and neck with Dallas, (30) and Corpus Christi. (32) For Corpus, hurricanes, alligators and the fact that it’s sinking probably factor into their stress levels.
What About The Borderland?
We don’t get to El Paso until #45. Not too bad I guess but our neighbors in Las Cruces are even more laid back with a stress ranking way below ours – 114. Somehow, even Albuquerque … the meth, crystal mecca … did a lot better than us. They came in at 110…
