A New Mexico man is accused of being a coordinator for a smuggling ring that transported undocumented migrants from stash houses in El Paso to Albuquerque, federal authorities said.
Brian Miguel Ramirez, 25, also known as “Chino,” was arrested July 12 in Albuquerque as part of an investigation by the U.S. Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Mexico said in a news release on Tuesday, July 28.
Ramirez faces a federal charge of conspiracy to bring and harbor undocumented migrants. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison. He appeared in federal court in Las Cruces on July 21 and was granted a $10,000 bond. It is unclear if he is still in custody…
