Temperatures should ease back into the low 90s late in the day before settling near 75 overnight. It is still hot, but the Borderland is getting a small break from the recent run of triple-digit afternoons.
Storm Chances Build After Dark
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected between 8 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, with a 20% chance of rain before skies turn mostly cloudy. West-southwest winds will run around 6 to 9 mph, and no watches or warnings are listed for El Paso or southern New Mexico.
The National Weather Service says storm coverage should increase from Thursday into the weekend. Thursday will stay mostly sunny with a high near 95, while Friday reaches about 96 and carries a stronger nighttime storm chance, rising to 40% after midnight.
