EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The City of El Paso has successfully renewed its railroad quiet zone designation in Central El Paso, meaning Union Pacific Railroad may no longer routinely sound train horns within the designated area.
City Representative Josh Acevedo announced the update on Tuesday, Sept. 22, saying Union Pacific has been notified that the quiet zone in the Five Points area is once again in effect.
“The City of El Paso has successfully renewed our quiet zone application,” Acevedo said. He added that residents who continue to hear train horns after this week should contact his office at 915-212-002.
