EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man charged in connection with a New Year’s Day crash that killed an 18-year-old woman rejected the state’s 15-year plea offer Thursday and changed attorneys during what was expected to be a plea hearing.

Abel Garcia, 48, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of Angelique Diaz De Leon.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Gateway North Boulevard and Sean Haggerty Drive in Northeast El Paso.
Police said Diaz De Leon was riding in a Chevrolet Camaro with her boyfriend when a pickup driven by Garcia T-boned their vehicle. Diaz De Leon was killed, while her boyfriend survived with minor injuries…
