ANTHONY, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — After heavy rains caused dozens of gravesites to sink at a southern New Mexico cemetery, crews began working Thursday morning to repair the damage.
About 40 graves at the Anthony Community Cemetery in Anthony, New Mexico, sank due to the recent storms that battered the borderland, according to the cemetery’s project manager, Christopher Nanez.
“Over the last 48 hours, with the heavy rains, it’s kind of flooded the cemetery here to the point where some of the graves have sunk anywhere between four inches to about a foot, and so there’s over 40 graves that have sunk, and we’ve started repairing that this morning,” Nanez said…
