Que Pasa? welcomes October with Autumn activities, spooky tours

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — October is here and so is all the spooky fun! Que Pasa? brings you all the eerie events to kick off your haunting vibes, giving you chills down your spine! Let’s “bite” into the events for this weekend!

Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo

The Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo returns for its 60th year! Here’s a list of hours for the fair, located at 12125 Robert Larson Blvd.:

  • Thursday, Oct. 1: 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 2: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • Saturday, Oct. 3: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • Sunday, Oct. 4: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Hop into fun with roller coasters, motorbike shows, a petting zoo, food, games, live entertainment by local acts, agriculture competitions, a pageant, baking contests and, of course, a rodeo show! Tickets are $16 for guests over 15 years old, and $11 for children 14 through 7.

Mesilla Valley Jazz & Blues Festival 2026

Get into the groove with the Mesilla Valley Jazz & Blues Festival! All the music fun is set to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the NMSU Atkinson Hall. For the rest of the festival, from Friday, Oct. 2 through Sunday, Oct. 4, enjoy live performances by various local talent from across the Borderland at the Plaza de Mesilla. While the festival is free for the public, donations are appreciated.

Cristo Rey Kermes

One of the first Kermes of October is the Cristo Rey Catholic Church Kermes! The event will be from 5 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 2 and from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 8011 Williamette Ave. Guests can enjoy live music, food and enter a raffle for a chance to win $10,000!…
