Texas has a lot of highly regarded steakhouses. But the best in the Lone Star State is just outside the West Texas town of El Paso, according to Yelp and Mashed.com.
The national online publication “dedicated to the folks who find the joy in eating as much as those who find the joy in cooking” consulted the Yelp online foodie brigade to help them lasso up the most amazing steakhouses in Texas and declared Cattleman’s Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch just outside the El Paso city limits #1 on its list.
Highly regarded by locals for its classic steakhouse fare, the 3,200-acre working cattle ranch is located a couple of miles off I-10 in Fabens about 40 minutes from downtown El Paso.
Getting to the literally middle-of-nowhere family restaurant encompasses a lot of desert scenery, but its kitschy Wild West theme and décor and the amazing steaks are definitely worth the drive.
From top sirloin to the New York strip, filet mignon and rib-eye, all the classic cuts are served up hot off it’s monster grill. Those who really, really love their cow can choose from The Cowgirl (a one-and-a-half-pound T-bone), The Wagon Master (one-and-a-quarter-pound T-bone), and The Cowboy (a full-two pounds of T-bone goodness).
