Walmart in Las Cruces evacuated after ‘bomb threat’

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A Walmart in Las Cruces was evacuated early Tuesday morning, Jan. 30 following a bomb threat.

The FBI confirms they are investigating the incident at the Walmart, located at 571 Walton Blvd. at Lohman, and did not find any evidence of explosives on-site.

The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office provided some equipment to assist the FBI and an FBI spokesperson says the Walmart should be reopening soon.

A spokesperson with the company provided a statement to KTSM, which is the following:

“We were made aware of a package inside one of our tenant spaces. Out of an abundance of caution and at the recommendation of law enforcement, the building was temporarily evacuated.”
