1 in custody, 2 injured after stabbing in South El Paso

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Two people were transported to a local hospital on Tuesday morning, Jan. 30 after a stabbing in South El Paso, according to El Paso Police.

Police say the stabbing happened just after 8 a.m. in front of Bowie Bakery located on 901 S. Park.

Police also say one person is currently in custody. One of the patients was transported Code 3 (serious injuries), according to fire dispatch.

One of the people who was injured on Tuesday morning, Jan. 30, in South El Paso is an EPISD employee, the school district confirmed with KTSM on Tuesday. The district provided the following statement:

“The collective thoughts of El Paso ISD are with the victims — including one of our employees — of an unprovoked attack that occurred this morning in South El Paso. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The district extends its gratitude to local law enforcement and first-response agencies for their swift work to ensure the safety of all citizens.”
