EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso’s Zoo “Quit Bugging Me” is back for Valentine’s Day and residents are encouraged to submit names of people who are bugging them, according to the City.
“Name a cockroach after anyone who is bugging you (an ex, significant other, boss, or mother-in-law) and get a cathartic release as the Zoo feeds the roaches to hungry zoo animals,” the City said.
Names can be submitted at the El Paso Zoo website or by clicking here: El Paso Zoo .
All submitted names will be displayed annonymously and only first names will appear, according to the City.
Feeding of the roaches will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14 at the Meerkats exhibit at the El Paso Zoo.
The public is encouraged to visit the zoo, but the feeding can also be seen on El Paso Zoo’s Facebook and Instagram page.
“In addition, for every $1,000 that is donated, El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens Director Joe
Montisano will eat a cockroach before an audience,” the City said.
Donations from the event will go to the El Paso Del Norte American Association of Zookeepers
Chapter, according to the City.
