Abe Mac visits students in East El Paso

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) —Country artist Abe Mac visited Jane A. Hambric School students on Friday, Feb. 9 and rewarded them with a pizza party, according to a press release.

“Country artist Abiel Macias, better known by his stage name Abe Mac, is back in El Paso and ready to reward students, promote literature, and showcase his new music,” the press release said.

The event took place on Friday afternoon at Jane A. Hambric School located on 3535 Nolan Richardson Dr.

“When I read my book, I challenged scholars to write their own,” he said. “Jane A. Hambric’s teachers and administrators reached out saying scholars accepted my challenge and wrote their own books. I was very excited to hear this, so I’m back and ready to hear their stories.”

Abe Mac will be performing Friday night, Feb. 9 at Ricky D’s Country Dance Hall located on 10780 Pebble Hills Blvd. Suite D. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the cost to enter is $10.

Abe Mac is a Socorro High School graduate, a UTEP alumni, and a former member of UTEP’s football team, according to the press release.
