EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The Hospitals of Providence East Campus unveiled its new Weight Loss Center East in the medical office building located at 3270 Joe Battle, Suite 180 in far East El Paso, the hospital announced in a press release sent Thursday, Feb. 15.
The new center offers additional clinic space, the latest technology and dietitian and consultation space to better care for patients, according to the press release.
The Weight Loss Center East first opened its doors in 2001 inside of The Hospitals of Providence East Campus.
The center is designed to help patients reach their health goals by exploring the lifelong benefits of weight loss surgery and regaining improvement in their quality of life, according to the press release.
The program, which includes a range of resources before surgery, provides access to post-operative care, support groups and nutritional counseling.
“Since we first opened our doors in 2021, our team has cared for over 300 patients working to improve their overall health through weight loss surgery,” said Dr. Michael Lara, Board-Certified Bariatric Surgeon. “At our weight loss center, we customize a plan to meet the individual needs of each patient and the results our patients see are significant – weight loss, an increase in mobility and energy and for some being able to reduce or stop medications they’ve been required to take due to health conditions as a result of obesity.”
