If you intend to travel from the Lower Valley to South-Central El Paso on Sunday morning, expect delays.
Road closures will be implemented as at least 3,400 runners participate in the 2024 El Paso Marathon.
The El Paso Marathon and half marathon will begin at 7 a.m. and the 5K will start at 7:30 p.m. Expect road closures to last until about 1 p.m. The county and the city permitted the race for six hours, according to the marathon website.
The marathon will start at San Elizario High School and end at the El Paso County Coliseum parking lot. The half marathon and 5K will begin and finish at the County Coliseum.
Anticipate occasional closures along the marathon route, just like last year. The route remains unchanged.
