Crime of Week: Man robs Downtown store at knifepoint

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso Police and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who robbed a Downtown store at knifepoint back in May.

This is this week’s featured “Crime of the Week,” Crime Stoppers said.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, a man at a Family Dollar Store at 406 S. Stanton confronted an employee after placing items into a backpack, Crime Stoppers said

The suspect threatened the employee with a knife and quickly placed more items into the bag and walked out of the store, Crime Stoppers said.

The man was captured on video walking out of the store.

He was also seen by witnesses walking south on Stanton.

The man is described as Hispanic, in his 20s, with a beard and visible tattoos on his arms, neck, and chest. He wore a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, an earring, a white tank top, dark pants, dark shoes, and a white shirt tied around his waist.
