Alcohol contributing factor in fatal fiery crash on Border Highway

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — El Paso Police say alcohol was a contributing factor in a fatal crash that happened last month in El Paso’s Lower Valley.

Police say Jesus Manuel Huerta, 69, had a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .188, adding that alcohol was a contributing factor in the fatal crash on Sunday, June 2.

Just after 3 p.m. that Sunday, Huerta was traveling eastbound on Loop 375 in a Ford van. Police say Huerta began to drive on the median between the Midway off-ramp and the traffic lanes of Loop 375 East for an unknown reason.
