El Paso police arrest 2 in vicious gang-dispute killing at East Side apartments

A dispute over street gang affiliations sparked a vicious shooting that killed a young man in the parking lot of an apartment complex in far East El Paso, police documents stated.

A complaint affidavit filed by a homicide detective described a merciless killing were the victim was shot multiple times , then beaten while on the ground motionless before one of the shooters appeared to snap a cellphone photo of the dead man.

The affidavit stated that the death of Omar Infante Jr., 24, was recorded on security camera and witness cellphone videos.

El Paso police arrested Damian Alexander De La Riva and Noah Daniel Lomeli, both 19, on murder charges this week in connection with Infante’s death early Saturday, July 20, at the Gonzalez Place apartments on Rich Beem Boulevard near Montana Avenue.

De La Riva and Lomeli are being held on a $1 million bond each at the El Paso County Jail in Downtown. They remain jailed as of Friday, July 26, jail logs show. No attorney is listed on court records for either man.
