El Paso’s “Mexican American culture and traditions” will be on full display at the 20th annual “Chicano art and Lowrider Happening.”
From Zoot Suit-wearing vatos to lovingly restored ranflas, the yearly event hosted by the Lincoln Park Conservation Committee puts “El Chuco’s” heritage in the spotlight for an afternoon.
Lincoln Park
Lincoln Park – also known as Chicano Park — is the grassy area under the Spaghetti Bowl that you’ve no doubt passed countless times on your way to and from downtown.
Located at 4001 Durazno Street, the iconic South Central green-space is known for the colorful murals painted on the freeway columns.
The works of art are so El Paso that when actor Wilmer Valderrama was in town for a promotional stop in July of 2021 he posed in front of one of them and shared the photo on his social media
