At the Governor’s Small Business Summit in El Paso, Governor Greg Abbott took the stage to appreciate the impact of Hispanic Texans on the state’s economy. The recently held summit was a gathering where Texas’ entrepreneurial spirit was rightly applauded, particularly spotlighting the Hispanic community’s significant role. “Texas is the economic engine of America, and most of that was made possible by our Hispanic owned businesses,” Abbott said, as noted in a statement by the Office of the Texas Governor, pointing out that the state houses 20 percent of America’s Hispanic business owners and that small businesses provide nearly half of all Texas jobs.
