Community event raising awareness for animal cruelty victims

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – El Paso Animal Services and a local nonprofit organization, Law N Paws, are teaming up to host an event to raise awareness for animal cruelty victims and support the local pet community, the City of El Paso announced in a news release.

The Justice for the Paws event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Gringo Theory located at 11410 Montana Ave.

The City said attendees can speak with the El Paso Animal Services protection officers to learn about local ordinances protecting pets and how you can be a voice for animals by reporting cruelty or neglect.

Attendees will have the chance to meet adoptable dogs from Law N Paws who have been given second chances after suffering from cruelty and neglect.

El Paso Animal Services will provide 100 free microchips for community pets and low-cost vaccines, courtesy of Far East Animal Care Center, according to the City.

The event will also feature local vendors, giveaways, food and more. Proceeds will support Law N Paws.
