More than $63 million due in outstanding balances for EMS provided by El Paso Fire Dept.

More than $60 million is owed to the city of El Paso for ambulance and medical services provided to people who haven’t paid the fire department, a 2019 city audit showed. The outside company hired to collect that money stopped working for the city in 2018 and it wasn’t until this August that Digitech was brought on board to try and collect those outstanding balances.
