EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) will be hosting the 2024 Día de los Muertos Festival and Parade this weekend, according to the City of El Paso.
The festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, November 2, in the Downtown Arts District.
The City said the theme of this year’s festival, which is directed by the upcoming Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC), is Raices Ancestrales (Ancestral Roots).
The festival will include family-friendly programming centered at San Jacinto Plaza and Cleveland Square Park with activities hosted by the MACC and the El Paso Museum of Archaeology (EPMArch), according to the City.
Programming inside the El Paso Museum of Art (EPMA) and the El Paso Museum of History (EPMH) will also be featured.
The City said the parade begins at 4 p.m. and includes over 50 groups featuring alebrijes, animals, live music and decorated floats.

- Parade, Community Altar at San Jacinto Plaza
- Tianguis Tlatelolco (by MACC and EPMH) at Cleveland Square Park (artisan vendor market)
- El Mercadito by The Market at San Jacinto Plaza
- Entertainment stages at San Jacinto Plaza and Arts Festival Plaza
- Xochicuicatl, A Mexica Myth presented by Teatro Sin Fronteras at Cleveland Square Park
- Día Mandala, Corn Mandala installation by Jorge Rojas on display at EPMA
- Free craft and culinary activities from the MACC at Cleveland Square Park and San Jacinto Plaza
- Free and paid activities, workshops, and lectures at EPMH
- Altars and Catrina Village at EPMA
