EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — The Catholic Diocese of El Paso will celebrate a rite of committal for cremated remains on All Souls’ Day on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The ceremony will take place after the All Souls’ Day Mass, which begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Road.
“Mt. Carmel Cemetery graciously provided burial space for the cremains that have yet to have a committal service and ensuring a dignified resting place and an opportunity for closure,” the Diocese said in a news release sent out early Saturday morning.
“We recognize the spiritual importance of a final resting place as a part of our All Souls’ Day observance,” Bishop Mark Seitz said. “It is a meaningful step in allowing families to honor their loved ones’ memory with reverence and peace.”
