El Paso area to host handful of Veterans Day parades

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — Several parades will be held this weekend and on Monday, Nov. 11 to honor those who have served the United States in military service and to recognize Veterans Day.

Saturday, Nov. 9, the United American Veterans Organization will be hosting its annual Veterans Day Parade along the streets of Downtown El Paso.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. This year’s theme is “In Honor of our Past and Present Military History.” The main viewing area will be on the eastside of the County Courthouse.

Veterans Day is Monday, Nov. 11 but El Paso tends to celebrate veterans and their contributions for multiple days leading up to the holiday.

Also Saturday, San Elizario will host its annual Veterans Day Parade which starts at 9 a.m. and ends up at Veterans Memorial Plaza, where there will be a celebration of Veterans.

On Monday, the annual annual Veterans Day Parade in Northeast El Paso will be held starting at 10 a.m. and finishing up with a ceremony at Old Glory Memorial at 11 a.m.
