Star on Mountain to shine green for National Injury Prevention Day

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) – The Star on the Mountain will shine green on Monday, Nov. 18 in recognition of National Injury Prevention Day, the El Paso Chamber announced in a news release.

The Chamber said this initiative highlights the importance of injury and violence prevention while paying tribute to the late Estell Lenita Johnson, an advocate for community safety.

By lighting the Star green, the Chamber and the Border Regional Advisory Council (BorderRAC) “aim to spark conversations and inspire efforts to make the community safer for everyone.”

“Lighting the Star green is a powerful symbol of our shared commitment to preventing injuries and violence in our region,” Claudia Rosales, El Paso Chamber director of programs & community outreach said. “We are proud to collaborate with BorderRAC in honoring Estell Lenita Johnson’s legacy and promoting safety and well-being for all El Pasoans.”

“The Star’s green glow will serve as a visible tribute to community safety efforts and a call to action for individuals, organizations, and stakeholders to work together in preventing injuries and violence,” read the news release.
