Owner reclaims impounded car with body in trunk

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, are trying to find out who abandoned a stolen car that was taken to a government impound lot, where the owner days later found a body in the trunk.

Police had retrieved the abandoned pink 1995 Ford Contour on Dec. 3 near the corner of Durazno and Troncoso streets in Juarez. They took the vehicle to Municipal Impound Lot No. 3, where it sat for days until authorities came across a stolen car report filed on Sept. 18 and called the owner.

According to a police report obtained by Border Report, when the owner showed up to reclaim her vehicle on Wednesday, she and a lot attendant found a body inside that had been wrapped in clear plastic tape from head to toe.

The deceased was a male in his 30s with signs of physical violence, according to the report. Police did not immediately establish a cause of death, but told reporters they did not see bullet wounds, nor recovered any bullet casings from inside the trunk.
