Residents of El Paso are bracing for a windy week ahead as the National Weather Service has forecasted conditions that include blowing dust and significant wind gusts. The latest update from the NWS detailed today’s high near 55 degrees with winds diminishing slightly in the afternoon. However, gusts as high as 44 mph could still occur. The winds are anticipated to persist through the week with variable intensities, possibly affecting visibility and travel in the region.

As reported by National Weather Service, a 30 percent chance of rain is also expected after 3 am tonight, with a partly cloudy low around 40 degrees and winds could reach up to 36 mph. The forecast suggests a mixed bag of weather as the weekend approaches, with Saturday seeing a 50 percent chance of rain and continued windy conditions. Blowing dust is expected to affect the area after 2pm.

While gusty conditions dominate the short-term outlook, the start of next week looks considerably brighter. A sunny Sunday with a comfortable high near 68 degrees is on the horizon, followed by an even warmer Monday, with a high near 82 degrees.
