EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Authorities in Juarez have arrested an American woman who crossed into Mexico from El Paso with $300,000 in undeclared cash.
Mexican National Guard members arrested the 43-year-old woman identified only as Lucia C.T. during a routine check of her vehicle at the Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge.
Couple stopped at border with $750k in undeclared cash
Soldiers rummaged through the black Toyota Rav4 and found multiple concealed stacks of $20 bills and a few stacks of $100 and $5 bills, a Mexican customs administrator told Border Report news partner ProVideo.
The woman allegedly contradicted herself when questioned and ultimately could not explain to whom the money belonged, the official said.
