Weather Authority Alert: Near total brown-out from dust — Your 9-Day Forecast

I hope you enjoyed the blue skies today because everything falls apart tomorrow. Yes, Tuesday will be “one of those days,” a near total brown-out of dust by afternoon. Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Tuesday:

TONIGHT:  The skies will be mostly clear with just a few clouds overnight.  Early in the evening, the SW-W winds will range from 10-30 mph before calming down slightly overnight.  The low will be mild 57.

FORECAST:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to powerful winds, strong gusts, and blowing dust on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Tuesday will be a terrible weather day with a near brown-out of dust by afternoon.  A High Wind Warning is posted from noon to 9 PM.  A Blowing Dust Advisory is posted from 9 AM to 9 PM.  The SW-W winds will pick up and gust near 60 mph.  Above the dust, skies will be partly cloudy.  Tuesday’s high: 82. A node of the jet stream sits on top of the Borderland, aggravating the winds both Tuesday and Wednesday.  Wednesday will also bring powerful winds gusting near 55 mph.  This will cause blowing dust by afternoon.  Wednesday’s high: 70.  Thursday will be partly to mostly cloudy and cooler with a high of 65.  Winds will be cooler but not strong enough to produce blowing dust. Friday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a high of 64.  Expect a few raindrops late Friday evening.  Saturday will be cloudy and chilly with a high of 52.  We have a good chance of measurable rainfall.  Winds will be strongest on the western slopes…
