A line of showers and t-storms set up west of El Paso this afternoon and drifted east, giving us some much needed rain as well as some dust protection for the gusty winds coming Saturday. The total official rainfall over the last 24 hours has been 0.28 inches. Get ready for more rain. Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Saturday:

TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers and isolated (non-severe) t-storms.  The SE winds will range from 5-20 mph, and the low will drop to 39.

FORECAST:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to very chilly winds and more rain for Saturday.  Saturday will be like a winter’s day as the high drops to 49.  A cold front blows in from the east, causing stronger gusts on the west slopes.  East winds will gust near 30 mph.  Expect scattered rain showers with a very slight chance of isolated (non-severe) t-storms.  Sunday will start out quite chilly with a low of 32, but the afternoon will be mostly sunny with a high of 60.  The winds will be light and variable, making for a gorgeous Sunday.  Monday will be even more beautiful and warmer with a high of 73.  The SW breezes will range from 5-15 mph.  Tuesday will be mostly sunny with warm breezes in the afternoon.  Tuesday’s high: 82.  Wednesday will be sunny and 86.  Thursday will be mostly sunny and 88 with occasional afternoon wind gusts.  Friday will be sunny and 90 as high pressure reaches its maximum…
