Mexican woman arrested after trying to smuggle cocaine at Paso Del Norte bridge, CBP says

EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A 29-year-old Mexican woman was arrested after she tried to smuggle close to 100 pounds of cocaine on Thursday, April 17, at the Paso Del Norte bridge in El Paso, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CBP says just after 10 a.m. Thursday, a woman arrived from Mexico in a vehicle at the Paso Del Norte bridge.

A CBP officer working at the primary inspection booth noted anomalies in the appearance of the car and directed the woman to a secondary inspection, according to CBP.

An X-ray scan of the car confirmed the presence of anomalies within the floor of the vehicle. A CBP drug-sniffing dog searched the car and alerted to the presence of narcotics, according to CBP…
