Texas school voucher law sparks debate over education funding

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14-CBS4) — Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed into law a controversial school voucher program, marking the largest day-one school choice initiative in the United States. The program, backed by a $1 billion state investment, allows families to use up to $10,000 of taxpayer money for private school tuition or other educational expenses. Students with disabilities could receive up to $30,000, while homeschoolers may qualify for $2,000.
