Extreme heat moves in, strong storms next week — Your 9-Day Forecast

You can feel the change in the moisture today. Yesterday, we faced a severe t-storm. Today, a much drier heat. That heat is about to move to a more concerning level with extreme heat possible both Thursday and Friday. Here’s your exclusive 9-Hour Forecast for Thursday:

TONIGHT:   The skies will be partly cloudy early evening with clear skies overnight.  A significant reduction in mid-level moisture means that storms will be out of the picture for a few days.  The SE winds will range from 5-15 mph, and the low will drop to 76.

FORECAST:  KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert for the potential for extreme heat, especially on Friday.  Thursday will be mostly sunny with a few clouds and a high of 105.  Friday will also be partly cloudy with a high of 106.  We’ll have a very slight chance of late day storms on Friday.  On Saturday, the ridge of high pressure begins to break down.  With a high of 100, expect widely scattered showers and t-showers by Saturday afternoon.  Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy with widely scattered showers and t-showers and the threat of heavy rainfall out of some individual storms.  Sunday’s high: 96.  Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy with widely scattered t-showers and the threat of heavy rainfall.  Monday’s high: 93.  Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with moments of sunshine and widely scattered showers and t-showers.  Again, we face the potential for heavy rainfall on Tuesday.  Tuesday’s high: 92…
