A driver allegedly told relatives he had “killed” someone before he was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run death of an El Paso woman over the July Fourth holiday weekend in Sunland Park, New Mexico State Police said.
Vicente Vasquez, 61, is accused of driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck that hit two pedestrians as they were crossing a street while purchasing fireworks on the night of July 3 in Sunland Park, according to a state police news release and a Channel 14-KFOX news report.
One of the pedestrians, 26-year-old Graciela Sahs, died in the collision on Sunland Park Drive. The other pedestrian was critically injured and taken to a hospital, the Sunland Park Fire Department said in a post on X. The second pedestrian’s name has not been disclosed…
