Santa Teresa, New Mexico (KFOX14/CBS4) — Visitors to the Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery in Santa Teresa are voicing their frustration over the site’s neglected condition.
Nichole Diamond, who has frequented the cemetery since 2008 after burying her mother there, expressed her disappointment, saying, “It’s not like a retail store where you can go in and get a return on investment. This is somewhere we laid our loved ones to rest and where we come to visit them and they’re just not taking care of it like they promised.”
Diamond recalled the cemetery’s former beauty, stating, “When somebody passes away, you’re distraught. And there was a peacefulness about this place. It was beautiful. And so laying her to rest here kind of made my heart feel lighter.”…
